With its latest release of the Evoke low-code platform, BlueFinity introduces Code Hook technology which takes the customization of apps to a whole new level.

The challenge facing users is not just the range of features offered by a platform, but the lack of flexibility to customize apps. Customers no longer accept the limitations of standard, out-of-the-box apps. They need the ability to build apps that meet the specific needs of their customers and staff, while easily adapting them as requirements evolve. It is also essential that these apps can integrate with third-party software, re-use trusted code or custom code, and connect seamlessly with external systems.
Evoke has always provided a completely different approach in order to meet these challenges.
As expected of a good low-code platform, Evoke provides familiar drag & drop, point & click and option select combined with an extensive array of widgets to select from, so that a wide functional range is covered. The difference is when generating the designed app. As well as creating the app for the customer’s selected device type/systems environment, Evoke produces a complete Visual Studio project. All of this code is then delivered and is fully available to the developer.
To make it even easier for customers to extend their apps and applications, BlueFinity’s latest Evoke release introduces the Code-Hook facility. Code-Hooks provide a simple way to integrate code and routines from existing applications, custom-built functionality and third-party libraries directly into an app, making them a seamless part of the app.
Evoke Code-Hooks are automatically added when an app is generated and can also be placed anywhere in the design by the app designer. Custom code – whether a JavaScript function, a legacy subroutine or virtually any other type of custom code – can then be attached to a Code-Hook and is automatically incorporated into the generated app.
When the app designer returns to the app design to add new functionality or modify existing features, the Code-Hooks remain in place. Any attached custom code is preserved and automatically included each time the design is regenerated into a new deployable app.
